Growth Energy Submits Comments to EPA on FFV Provisions in CAFE Regulations

Last week, Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Chris Bliley submitted a letter to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in support of the agency’s final rule on Flex-fuel Vehicle (FFV) provisions in Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) regulations. The rule would allow automakers to make fuel economy compliance calculations with greater certainty for FFVs which promotes continued manufacturing of those vehicles. It also appropriately carries out an EPA 2012 rule addressing fuel economy calculations. These technical clarifications should be non-controversial and supported by automakers, farmers, and biofuel producers alike. These clarifications continue to provide benefit to automakers as they seek to continue manufacturing FFVs moving forward.  We continue to work with a variety of stakeholders on the FFV weighting factor (F-factor) and related activities to continue encourage production of FFVs..
