TOP STORY Second Anniversary of Year-Round E15 Tuesday marked the two-year anniversary of year-round E15 sales, a significant milestone and turning point for the biofuels industry. This anniversary is a reminder of a decade of hard work and coordination by Growth Energy members like you, fuel retailers, our champions in Congress, and other key stakeholders to lift the outdated RVP regulation and allow drivers to access cleaner, more affordable fuel year-round.
This anniversary is also a reminder of what higher blends of ethanol can do for the environment, particularly as we continue to work with the Biden Administration and Congress to position biofuels as a ready solution to climate change. Just last week, a study was released by the U.S. Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory which found that the corn ethanol production pathway has greatly evolved since 2005 and "can play a critical role in reducing our carbon footprint.” This research further proves the value in expanding E15 nationwide and making biofuels like ethanol a key piece of the national infrastructure and climate conversations.
Be sure to share our post on Twitter and Facebook to spread the word on the second anniversary of year-round E15!

IN REGULATORY AFFAIRS State Update: Nevada Over Memorial Day Weekend, the Nevada State Senate approved AB411, legislation that would require the state Board of Agriculture to approve E15 as part of any fuel regulations by July 2022. The legislation is now headed to Governor Sisolak's desk for signature. We are continuing to monitor the legislation as it awaits signature. For more information, please contact Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Chris Bliley.
POET has officially acquired Flint Hills Resources' entire ethanol business, a deal that will boost POET's ethanol production by 40% to 3 billion gallons per year.
The acquisition includes six bioprocessing facilities located in Iowa and Nebraska and two terminals in Texas and Georgia. POET will now operate 33 bioprocessing facilities across eight states.
"Biofuels are one of the best near-team solutions to climate change," POET founder and Chief Executive Jeff Broin told Reuters. "Biofuels are here today, and we don't have decades to wait."
Golden Grain Unveils World's Largest Grain Bin Yesterday in Mason City, Iowa, Golden Grain Energy debuted the world's largest grain bin, built by Sukup Manufacturing. The bin, about 165 feet in diameter and 155 feet tall, will be able to hold over 2.2 million bushels of corn. Congratulations to Golden Grain and Sukup Manufacturing on an exciting day and momentous Big Bin Bash yesterday! For more information, please contact Vice President of Membership Kelly Manning. IN MARKET DEVELOPMENT 21 Billion Miles Driven on E15 Just a few months ago, our industry was celebrating 20 billion miles driven on E15. This week, following the unofficial start of summer and summer road trip season, Americans reached 21 billion miles driven on E15. This rapidly climbing number is a testament to what higher blends of ethanol offer drivers at the pump, including lower fuel prices as we all return to the road. For more information, please contact Vice President of Market Development Mike O'Brien.
IN COMMUNICATIONS Skor Promotes Get Biofuel Campaign on Adams on Agriculture CEO Emily Skor joined Mike Adams live on his show, Adams on Agriculture, to promote the new Get Biofuel consumer campaign.
"We know consumers today are looking for ways to make a positive impact on the environment, and so our initiative positions biofuels like plant-based ethanol as a simple change anyone can make to benefit the earth," said Skor. "We're using cutting edge creative, and in doing so we are connecting directly with the consumer in her space, drawing attention to biofuels' positive environmental benefits, and then encouraging her to choose higher blends like engine-smart, earth-kind E15, or Unleaded 88 at the pump."
