Growth Energy Joins 150 Biofuel Plant Managers in Letter to President

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Growth Energy joins 150 biofuel plant managers and industry leaders in a letter asking President Trump to pursue the path that’s a genuine win for agriculture, the biofuels industry, and blue-collar workers. The industry is calling for Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) relief and asking the administration to reject Ted Cruz’s proposals that pick winners and losers.

“The campaign against RINs is based on fairytales, designed to justify handouts for the same folks who raided corporate funds at the expense of local workers in Philadelphia. Those workers deserve real answers – not scapegoats and excuses from Ted Cruz and his donors,” said Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor.

Rural America and the biofuels industry are united behind the President’s vision to expand E15 sales year-round by lifting RVP restrictions. Cruz’s proposals would pad the pockets of a few wealthy investors at the expense of our entire industry and rural America.

“PBF, HollyFrontier, and Valero are all posting surging profits. Delta’s revenue from the Monroe refinery is up too. Instead of pitting their own workers against rural jobs, refinery owners should be talking about pro-growth options, like lifting needless limits on summertime sales of E15. President Trump vowed to protect the RFS, and that’s the kind of policy that will support both refinery margins and America’s hardworking farmers.”

The letter can be found here.
