NASCAR Nears 6 Million Miles on Mid-Level Blend of Ethanol

WASHINGTON, DC —As drivers prepare to hit the Brickyard in Indianapolis this weekend, American Ethanol also prepares to hit a new milestone at the track – 6 million miles of racing on Sunoco Green E15. Join Richard Childress, founder and owner of Richard Childress Racing, and American Ethanol sponsors, Growth Energy and Indiana Corn Growers, for a press conference to discuss 6 million miles of racing with higher blends of ethanol, the future of E15 in NASCAR and the benefits available to consumers who choose to use E15.

Who: Richard Childress, chairman and CEO of Richard Childress Racing, and sponsors of American Ethanol, Tom Buis CEO of Growth Energy and Ken Parrent Director of Biofuels at Indiana Corn Marketing Council.

What: Press conference and media availability to discuss 6 million miles of racing in NASCAR with Sunoco Green E15 Fuel.

When: Friday, 25 July at 9 a.m. (ET).

Where: The Media Center at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, Ind.

When this milestone is reached, E15 will continue to prove it is a high performance fuel on both the road and the track. Several years ago, the U.S. Department of Energy performed an exhaustive test of E15, driving 86 cars for over 6 million miles, and approving the fuel for use in all light duty cars and trucks model year 2001 and newer. With an additional 6 million miles of NASCAR real-world racing under its belt, E15 will be definitively established as a reliable, dependable and safe fuel that is environmentally friendly, high performance and a less expensive option for consumers.

CEO of Growth Energy Tom Buis will also be available for interviews when NASCAR reaches the 6 million mile mark on the track, on Sunday, July 27 at 1 p.m. (ET) during the Crown Royal Presents, The John Wayne Walding 400, as well as the Lilly Diabetes 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the Brickyard, on Saturday, July 26 at 4 p.m.
