WASHINGTON, DC — Following President Obama’s announcement nominating Gina McCarthy to be the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Tom Buis CEO of Growth Energy released the following statement:
“President Obama has made an outstanding choice in his decision to nominate Gina McCarthy to be the next Administrator of the EPA. I would like to offer my congratulations to Gina McCarthy on her nomination. Over the last four years, she has exemplified leadership at the EPA, diligently working to ensure that public health and a cleaner environment are a top priority.
“Furthermore, she has dedicated her entire career to achieve common sense solutions to balance the country’s growing energy needs with important environmental concerns, as well as to ensure transportation needs are met. I am confident that she has the qualifications, and the drive and passion to make her an effective and outstanding leader at the EPA and within the President’s cabinet.
“Gina McCarthy has been a strong supporter of biofuels and we look forward to working with her to bring sustainable, clean, homegrown American fuels to the consumer. This will help reduce our dependence on foreign oil, create jobs and spur economic growth, in addition to providing motorists a choice and savings at the pump, all while ensuring important environmental concerns will be a top priority.”
