Growth Energy Adds New Producer to Membership

WASHINGTON, DC – Growth Energy, the leading coalition of U.S. ethanol supporters, today welcomed Adkins Energy LLC as its newest member, bringing Plant Membership to 73, with another 60 Associate Members. Adkins Energy is located in Lena, Illinois.

“Growth Energy is a coalition of ethanol supporters dedicated toward American energy independence. Through the leadership and foresight of our membership, we have established ourselves as the leading voice for the industry. With the addition of Adkins Energy, we are expanding our ability to educate consumers about ethanol and dispel the misinformation perpetuated by the special interests who don’t want to see ethanol succeed,” said Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis.

Adkins Energy LLC is a corn-to-ethanol production facility which processes approximately 16 million bushels of corn annually into more than 45 million gallons of fuel-grade ethanol.

“We are proud to produce and support the development of renewable fuels like ethanol,” said Ray Baker, General Manager of Adkins Energy. “Increasing access to clean, homegrown ethanol will reduce the impact that oil prices have on our lives and improve our environment. As a member of Growth Energy, we can more effectively communicate the many benefits of ethanol to the public.”
