Statement from Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis, in response to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus’ (D-Mont.) recently unveiled plan to end billions of dollars in tax breaks for large, multinational oil and gas companies and invest in cleaner and cheaper domestic energy sources:
“I applaud Chairman Baucus’ plan, which addresses these publicly-funded subsidies for global oil companies and throws some light on the real hidden costs of oil. Rolling back the enormous tax breaks, subsidies and giveaways that global oil and gas companies get every year would begin to level the playing field and allow renewable, affordable ethanol to compete in the open market.”
