Growth Energy Welcomes Patriot Renewable Fuels, LLC as 59th Member Plant

WASHINGTON, DC – Growth Energy, the coalition of U.S. ethanol supporters, today welcomed a new ethanol producer to its growing list of members. Patriot Renewable Fuels, LLC in Annawan, IL will become Growth Energy’s 59th Plant Member and join its 38 Associate Members and 18,000 individual Growth Force members to help expand the production of domestic ethanol as a means to decrease our dependence on foreign oil and create American jobs at home.

“We are privileged to announce the addition of Patriot Renewable Fuels, LLC to the Growth Energy family,” said CEO Tom Buis. “Every one of our members plays an integral part in our mission to educate Americans about the benefits of ethanol and the role that it can play in strengthening our national security, improving our environment and creating good paying green jobs. Patriot Renewable Fuels, LLC will help us achieve our goals of making America cleaner and more energy independent through ethanol.”

Patriot Renewable Fuels, LLC is a 100 million gallon per year Ethanol Producing Facility. The plant is committed to providing an energy solution which is renewable, environmentally friendly and domestically produced.

“The ethanol industry has achieved unparalleled growth over the past ten years and is successfully contributing to our nation’s security and energy independence goals,” said Gene Griffith, Patriot’s President and CEO. “As a new company Patriot has created new jobs in the mid-west, and created a new market for locally corn grown. We are also contributing positively to the nation’s balance of payments, by replacing 100 million gallons of imported oil, and by exporting over $35 million of feed annually. It’s hard to imagine any new company that could respond better to these challenges, but we need broad public support to insure the continued success of the industry and our plant. We are pleased to join with Growth Energy, as a leading industry trade group to help the ethanol industry communicate our story to our state and national leaders and the general public.”
