Growth Energy Backs Boswell Pipeline Legislation

WASHINGTON, DC – Growth Energy, the coalition of U.S. ethanol supporters, issued the following statement after Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa) reintroduced legislation to provide loan guarantees for a dedicated renewable fuel pipeline:

“Growth Energy recognizes that U.S. renewable fuels is still an emerging industry, and we need to invest in the national infrastructure necessary to deliver ethanol and other biofuels to markets,” Tom Buis, CEO of Growth Energy, said. “An ethanol pipeline — built privately with federal loan guarantees — will help assure that U.S. consumers will have choices at the pump that include domestic, renewable ethanol.”

“A dedicated renewable fuel pipeline would enable the transport of ethanol across more than 1,800-miles from the Midwest to the East Coast, increasing access to ethanol and creating good paying jobs that can’t be outsourced.”

“We commend Rep. Boswell for his leadership in helping to pass this legislation. A renewable fuel pipeline will help invigorate the economy of rural America and help extend the benefits of ethanol to more states across the country.”
