Statement from Growth Energy on the Passing of Ray Katzen

WASHINGTON –Tom Buis, CEO of Growth Energy, released the following statement in honor of Dr. Raphael “Ray” Katzen, who recently passed away at the age of 93.

“I was saddened to learn of the passing of one of our industry’s founding fathers. Ray was an ethanol pioneer who brought the industry to life both domestically and internationally. He envisioned the potential of our industry to advance to cellulosic ethanol long before anyone else. He also penned the ambitious Project 20 – a plan to produce 20 billion gallons of cellulosic ethanol by 2020 – a vision that Growth Energy and others in the industry are striving to make a reality. His legacy will live on forever in our hearts and our minds.”
