Statement from Growth Energy on the Passing of Kathy Bryan

WASHINGTON –Dave Vander Griend, Board Member of Growth Energy and President and CEO of ICM, Inc., released the following statement in honor of Kathy Bryan, who recently passed at the age of 63.

“We mourn the loss of Kathy Bryan and express our heartfelt sympathies on the passing of this extraordinary pioneer, who for nearly 30 years steadfastly championed ethanol as a viable alternative fuel. Kathy tirelessly worked to promote our industry. Serving as the first Chairperson of the Minnesota Ethanol Commission, she singlehandedly created the state’s aggressive ethanol policies which later became known as the “Minnesota Model,” that the rest of us tried to emulate across the U.S. Kathy was not afraid to forge new paths, and she always believed that our industry would ultimately prevail because of its commitment to the promise of agriculture, to our environment, and to decreasing our dependency on foreign oil. We will miss Kathy dearly, and will continue to honor her memory with the same passion and dedication that she so gracefully showed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kathy’s friends and family.”
