The IndyCar Series runs exclusively on pure ethanol. It doesn’t get any more high performance than 230 mph.
Performance
When it comes to performance, ethanol delivers everything you could hope for. Just ask the racecar drivers at NASCAR, who all use Sunoco Green E15 in their gas tanks and find it gives them more horsepower and lower emissions.
You’ll also find ethanol in the planes of the Vanguard Squadron, an elite stunt plane team. Flying mere feet apart with split-second timing, stalls and vapor lock are not an option. They literally trust their lives to ethanol.
Called “The Greatest Show on H2O,” The Catfish Bay Water-ski Show in Sioux Falls performs breathtaking stunts while being pulled by ethanol-powered boats. With as many as 30 water skiers in a formation, power, control and consistency are essential.
